The Director of Health Services oversees medical services related to29i programs (EFFC, RTC, JYF, Bruner/New View), POH and IDD services. This role ensures high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across all programs while providing clinical guidance to the medical team.
Responsibilities
Oversee medical services for 29i programs and IDD services, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with healthcare standards and program needs, and contract oversight.
Provide direct supervision to the Supervising RNs for 29i and IDD services, as well as Nurse Practitioners and MDs.
Manage budgeting and resource allocation for clinical operations.
Ensure treatment quality and coordinate care with internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee staff training, hiring, and professional development to enhance service delivery.
Ensure compliance with external audits and work closely with PEM to monitor quality regularly.
Serve as a primary liaison with regulatory agencies and funders, including ACS, OPWDD, and other oversight bodies related to the provision of health services.
Ensure adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality policies in all clinical documentation and reporting.
Collaborate with support divisions within the organizations such as Finance, Human Resources, Performance, Evaluation and Measurement, General Counsel, Institutional Advancement, Program Development, and other program areas.
Raise the Organization’s profile through external communications, representation at key events, serving on advisory boards, relevant committees and task forces.
Qualifications
Education: Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or relevant healthcare leadership background.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of clinical practice and 5 years of senior management experience in healthcare or social services.
Licensure: Current and unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Skills: Strong leadership, policy implementation, and financial management abilities.
Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with 29i health services, OMH, OPWDD, and regulatory standards.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Office-based with required travel to program sites.
Must be able to sit, stand, and occasionally lift-up to 10 pounds.
This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the highest standards of medical care and clinical services for the people supported by the organization.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday in 500 Bergen Avenue. Bronx, New York. Work hours options are 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm, 10 am - 6 pm.
Additional Requirements:
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 3 days or more per week.
Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)
